I have always been one who has been interested in historical uniforms, and have collected and enjoyed those Osprey books on uniforms with the colour illustrations...

So, when I decided that Milsim airsoft was what I was interested in, I thought it would be nice to spice up my intended 'dressing up box' with something a bit more than just the normal Shemagh!

Today I received a delivery of my first part of my Middle Eastern/Afghanistan insurgents uniform from a fantastic eBay shop called 'Desertdress.com'

The delivery included two Arab Shemaghs, a Pakol Afghan hat and a Kurta Kaftan shirt.

I had also initially ordered a set of three Shemaghs from another airsoft retailer, of the type you see all over the web. But I ordered teh extra two from Desertdress.com because their range of Shemaghs comes in some really nice colours schemes that I thought would stand out from the usual 'table cloth' Shemaghs that we see so often.

The quality of the items was terrific, and the price was really reasonable (I am trying to make this kit 'impression' on a strict budget).

The Pakol was a fiver, as were the Shemaghs and the Kurta shirt was £8.

By changing headdress I can use the Kurta as either an Iraqi impression (with a Shemagh) or as an Afghan impression with the Pakol hat. Which makes it even more good value.

As I said, this is only part of the kit - I will be buying the rest next pay day (September), with pieces including; a Arab waistcoat, AK mag chest rig (from Flecktarn) and a CMYA AK 47 to complete the look.

When I was a kid growing up in Scotland I seemed to be the only kid who never minded playing the 'baddie' in games. I hope that I can add some authenticity and enthusiasm to playing the 'baddie' now I am older and into airsoft! Wink

Yep mate, really nice sand colour.

This was from SURPLUS & ADVENTURE and was £6.95. Link: http://www.surplusandadventure.com/shopscr275.html

The one on the left (from Desertdress.com) is a toffee colour.

You see I'd say yeah we'll be right on it....but some reason we have no MASS delete option for users/bots/spam. It involves me and Stray typing the names of the users into a box before we can remove them.

I hope you don't think me rude if I say fuck off to the suggestion of removing 48661 registered SPAM bots. Cool

Most of them have no ability to post because of how a friend set it up. I normally delete the ones that do post..despite the fact that after they've posted they're used up. But this one here is rather odd....theres no link to another site in the message or in his profile...its spam...but whats the point?
